More About Certifications

The Chartered Financial Analyst® charter is regarded as the most highly respected credential in the investment management profession. Less than 20% of CFA candidates complete the program. Earning the charter requires four years of professional work experience, submission of references attesting to the candidate’s abilities and professional character, an annual commitment to a strict code of ethics, and passing a series of three rigorous exams covering the following core curriculum topics:

Please refer to WHY HIRE A CFA® CHARTERHOLDER for more information.

The Certified Treasury Professional® (CTP) designation is evidence that an individual is certified in corporate treasury and cash management. The credential is awarded based upon experience and passing of a rigorous examination that provides objective measure of an individual’s broad-based knowledge and competency in treasury management. Ongoing professional development is required to maintain the credential. The CTP is administered by the Association for Financial Professionals, the leading association for treasury and financial management professionals, with more than 16,000 members worldwide. For more information, see APA Online.

No credential or license should be interpreted to mean that the holder is superior or may offer better service or investment performance than those without such designations. Holding the credential or license simply means the holder has met the qualifications of the credentialing or licensing organization. The credential or license, therefore, should be evaluated based on the standards set by the sponsoring organization. The credential or license is but one factor when evaluating the finance professional.
